Votipka receives award

Visiting Assistant Professor Daniel Votipka is recognized with the John Karat Usable Privacy and Security Student Research Award.

Visiting Assistant Professor Daniel Votipka recently received the 2020 John Karat Usable Privacy and Security Student Research Award. This award acknowledges Votipka's excellence in research, mentorship, and community service. The award is announced annually at the Symposium on Usable Privacy and Security (SOUPS) in honor of John Karat's contributions to the security community and his dedication to mentoring students.

Votipka will join the Department of Computer Science Spring 2021 as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. He currently holds a courtesy title at Tufts while he finishes his PhD at the University of Maryland. His research focuses on computer security with an emphasis on the human factors in security professional tasks.
